Chinese New Year
A good month after we started the New Year in the western world, the Chinese are also celebrating their New Year celebrations. For them, the year of the pig begins on 5th of February 2019. The reason for this deviation is the old lunisolar calendar, which dates back to the imperial period. And while we know 12 signs of the zodiac in the year, stands in China always a whole year under a sign of one zodiac. The Chinese astrology also knows 12 signs of the zodiac, Budda invited all animals to follow the legend. But only 12 have appeared. But in China there are also the elements, fire, earth, water, metal and wood which occur as Yin and Yang, so 2 times. Therefore every combination of an element with the sign of the zodiac occurs only every 60 years. On 5th of February 2019 begins the year of the earth pig. Today we met us to celebrate this with our friends and guests.
We prepared and decorated the Trails End Music Hall Club accordingly. We invited all our friends and guests to join us in celebrating the Chinese New Year on 5th of February at 5pm. I think we all had wished for a better and more peaceful year. DJ Yezika entertained us accordingly, and Ruby and Vanny supoorted her as host.
Tuesday is usually not so crowded. For most Europeans the date is late, and for the west coast of the USA perhaps a little early in the week. But we had a total of 40 guests that evening. There were also new members in the group, and some guests we haven't seen in a while. It is always nice when old friends find us again. Unfortunately not everyone could stay the whole time, others came later. So at the end we were 33 people together in the Sim. And of course most of the Sunshine Girls and the guests had chosen beautiful and suitable clothes. It was fun to see so many colorful clothes.
We also had a contest with 1,000 L$ to split again. We had 20 participants in the contest and at the end voted 19 of them.
