Air, earth, water or fire, which element do you represent?

Today we met again at Temple, and had a very special party together. It was about the 4 elements of ancient Greek philosophy, everyone was called upon to choose one element and somehow represent it, dress something that connects her to that element.  Like every Tuesday we started at 5pm and Yezika and her Nightwish Family did the entertainment. We had redecorated the temple, let ourselves be inspired by the theme. Even though there was very little time, the Temple shone in a new light and shine, all under the sign of the elements. Bic, who had designed a new banner, helped us again.

We are always looking for new ideas for our parties. Last Saturday we had our Holi Fest celebrations here in the temple and the Temple Mount was colorfully decorated. It was a wonderful event with a very important meaning for all members of the Sunshine Family. Openness for all people, freedom of opinion and tolerance of all cultures and religions. Especially the colorful Holi Fest as a festival of love stands for this.

And so it was a spontaneous idea when Misty said last Saturday, "Air, earth, water or fire, which element do you represent?".  We both agreed, we both feel attracted to water. But what could others associate with this theme? It was a double challenge for us to decorate the temple for this very special event and find a costume for us. And there weren't even 3 days left for that.

We remembered what the 4 elements represent at all, what they mean in each case. Of course we also read something. That's what makes the events so special for us. Sunshine Realm stands for new ideas, extraordinary parties and weekly challenges for the Sunshine Girls and visitors.  Colors represent the elements, green for Earth, white for Air, blue for water and red for Fire. All natural elements stand for a mix of the both properties dry/wet and warm/cold.  And Zodiac signs areassigned to one of these elements also. Everyone was called to choose wisely.

Even though some of these principles already point to modern science, it must not be overlooked that Empedocles first introduced the four elements as Gods. However, there is no agreement on which God he assigned which element to. Some authors assume that the fire was assigned to Zeus, the air to Hera, the earth to Aidoneus (Hades) and the water to Nestis (Persephone), others interpret Empedocles' texts in the sense that Hera was assigned to Earth and Aidoneus to air. So was the mix of colors and greek mythology also a good access to the topic. 

And of course there are the clouds and storms, the thunderstorms. The elemental forces can also be associated with the elements, and some have chosen this path. Anyway, it was a wonderful moment to see that most of us Sunshine Girls, but also most of the guests had thought about it and had a fitting costume. So the impressive temple was filled with a colorful crowd, and it really became a unique event.

Yezika had picked out good music on the theme, and Ruby and Vanny both accompanied her today. We all met at 5pm and it was a wonderful party from the beginning. Everything worked very well. Despite the many extravagant costumes and many people the lag wasn't really bad. And there were new guests again, and some long lost guests returned for this special event. In the end there were almost 50 guests, although not all of them could stay the whole 2.5 hours. But in the end we were 42 people together.

And like at all our events we opened a contest again. We filled it as usual with 1,000 L$ and started it in splitmode. That should remain the final sum, and 29 people took part. Of these 27 then cast their votes, so that we distributed the winning amount in 27 shares. After the problems of the weekend everyone voted sensibly and did not click on the board again and again in quick succession. So the voting went without a hitch.

On weekdays it is more difficult to please everyone and to get many guests. Also there is usually only a short after-party, because most of us have to work again the next day and want to go to bed afterwards. But we stayed together for a short time. And of course it got a bit hotter again.

And this was not the element "fire", of course some of us followed this element and went up in flames. Of course there were also some naked skin and bodies and tits moving to the music.

It was a really really awesome night for us all and a example for the possibilities of a virtual world. Nobody of us will forget this night.
