Hearts On Fire

Thursday the 14th of February was Valantine Day again. The special day for all people in love in many countries of our world. I hope nobody of you have forgotten it and bought gifts and flowers for the one and only lover, this special person in your life. Maybe you could enjoyed the day with your lover at a romantic dinner with candle lights or dancing together in the moonlight.  

Hearts On Fire was our Valentine Day Celebration 2019. And we made a romantic formal dance ball because we love formal gowns with jewelery and flowers, and we love to see men in suits and tux. We spend 3 hours with our friends and guests. And we created a new venue for this event, our own Acropilis, Mount Olympus or temple hill.

We met like every Friday before in the Room Club and did 2 hours of maximum rock with Valantine. It was already funny. Then we changed to the Sunshine Realm at 4pm. Of course it was an exciting moment, most of our friends and guests hadn't seen the new place and were positively surprised. I was some minutes earlier there, to check the place and waited.

Most of them were really excited about our new venue and it quickly got fuller. I've said it before, it's always very hard to predict how many guests will come. Other events in SL and of course holidays or events in the different countries in RL cause a big fluctuation. But today it was quickly clear that something special would happen.

As usual we opened the contest with 1,000 L$ in splitmode. As it got fuller we quickly had the first donation, Travi and Skyee gave us 200 L$. It is always nice that our guests not only come to our many different events, prepare themselves and follow the theme. Some support us again and again. So the contest had arrived in the first step at 1,200 L$. 

Now we have a lot of dances in our INTAN balls. Many also have their own HUDs and so some danced in the group, others alone, but of course we also had some beautiful couples on the dance floor. And all in beautiful dresses or suits. No wonder there were red hearts everywhere, it was our "Hearts on Fire".

DJ Valantine was awesome. She played the right music for the occasion. The quiet and romantic songs, mixed with soul and blues, inspired us all, and so the event developed into something very special.

Another, this time anonmyme donation increased the contest to 3,000 L$. We decided to let the event run a bit longer to give everyone the chance to participate. And of course there were some more guests. After we had already exceeded the 50 guests, we were still surprised when it suddenly turned 60, and it seemed to take no end. Fortunately our temple is designed for many guests. And everyone had fun, and with one exception, everyone came in formal clothes.

But the venue was new. We had some problems with the lag in the last weeks. Sl changes so fast, the lag stays. Everything would work out. Especially with a new place it's hard to say. And we hadn't arrived at the end yet. Another anonymous donation increased the jackpot to 4,000 L$. And with that the madness was finally reached. We weren't sure how many people would fit into the sim, and how it is with this SL rule that the last places can't be awarded. But we were just before the 70th. First of all we had 68 guests in the Deep Lust Region. Would everything hold?

And then we passed 70, everything continued to work. Another donation raised the contest to the final score of 5,000 L$, 10 pages in the contest were almost filled. Would the board survive the 11 page? It remained exciting. In the end we had 72 people at our event, there would have been even more, but 4 guests had to leave us before. Now the question was, would the voting work?

Unfortunately, some don't learn and torture the contest board. Instead of clicking once and waiting, they fire series of mouse clicks on the board. Unfortunately SL is difficult there, because many dialogs have to be opened for the unvote. And that makes it harder for everyone to vote. We can ask you to appeal to reason, it is always the same. So it was a tough voting, but it works at the end with some extra time doc, and everyone could vote. At the end we had 56 votes.

Of course, we were happy after that evening. Many guests in beautiful clothes, the contest was successful, the Sim had held. Valantine went into extra time and we stayed together. It was a wonderful party and we celebrated a bit. Especially the after-parties are famous, so there was a lot of naked skin to see again, and we all danced and laughed together.
