On National Aviation Day, the Airfield will honor the fearless spirit of flight with leather jackets, silk scarves, and a night that soars beyond the horizon. Whether you’re a barnstorming daredevil, a glamorous passenger, or Amelia herself reborn - DJ Yezika will keep the propellers spinning until we touch the stars.

The year was 1937 when Amelia Earhart vanished into the great expanse of the Pacific. Some say she was lost. Some say she was found… somewhere beyond maps and miles. And in the Sunshine Realm, we like to believe she didn’t just survive, she thrived. Tonight, she returns, not to explain her mystery, but to invite us to share in it.

For National Aviation Day, the Sunshine Airfield will hum with the same restless energy Amelia carried in her veins. The hangars will stand open to the night, vintage prop planes gleaming under the runway lights. Silk scarves whip in the breeze. Leather creaks as pilots lean over maps. Glasses clink in a corner as passengers wait for boarding. Above it all, the ghost of Amelia smiles knowingly, the sky is not a limit here.

Your outfit is your flight plan. Channel the classic Amelia look: leather bomber jacket, white silk scarf, flying cap and goggles, fitted trousers or breeches with tall boots. Or take it further – reimagine Amelia as a steampunk aviatrix with brass accents and mechanical wings, or a futuristic sky captain with glowing flight gear. Ladies can add pencil skirts, aviation pins, and vintage gloves; gents can bring in crisp uniforms, rugged barnstormer coats, or stylish three-piece “passenger” ensembles. And in SecondLife, even high heels can board the plane.

The roleplay writes itself. Are you Amelia’s long-lost co-pilot, finally reunited for one more impossible flight? A reporter trying to get the story? A rival pilot who’s been chasing her shadow across the skies? Or just a wanderer lucky enough to catch the same tailwind she rides?

When DJ Yezika’s beats start blending with the low thrum of engines, the night will become a living postcard from an era where bravery was the only ticket you needed. And when the official journey ends, the afterparty will carry us all to Amelia’s “secret island”, a place no map can show, and no one ever really leaves.
