Surf's up!

Surf's up!

Salt in the Air .. Sand in my Hair!

Now the first of our new beach events is behind us. As we talked about the events for this week at the last weekend, it was this one as well as the "April Showers" at Tuesday and a Viking event at Saturday. Surf's up! Also the line "Salt in th Air ... Sand in my Hair" was quickly found. And a text for the invitation was easy too, we had the rainy April Showers event before.
The clouds have gone, the rain has stopped. The sun is over the Sunshine Realm again and its time to wear a bikini or swimming trunks.  We want use just this feeling to go with you back to our beach. Get your surfboards out, we meet for Surf's Up. We want to see sexy and sporty bodies, tanned. But please, think of enough sun protection, nobody should burn his skin.

But what else could we do? We already had parties at the "Sunshine Cove Beach Club" and also our "Hawaiian Luau" last week was in a Tiki Club. Would it be enough if everyone came with a surfboard under their arm and we just called it "Surf Party"? Well, I see the surfers right on the beach, sitting and drinking on blankets with a coolbox, and the surfboards next to them in the sand. But I don't see them in a club. How were we supposed to do that?

The next step was a shooting for the poster. But the poses were quickly found in the Marketplace, I bought some and tried them out, but in the end I decided for the series [ Quixotica ] Surfer Pose Collection of [ Quixotica ]. The poses are wonderful, but for many of this poses you have to be in the water, sometimes deeper, or even with your feet in the water. Also waves would be good. But that's exactly what the Sunshine Realm didn't have. Should I go to one of the other Sims in SL? Now I still had mesh parts for a beach from Studio Skye positioned them as a place for a photo shoot in the mouth of the small brook. Only here the land was lowered enough to reach the SL water. But it was just a trick, a "built" scene for the shooting. But beautiful pictures were taken. You can have a look at them in this Google Images Album. Only we needed an idea for the event.

How could we change the Sim. We hadn't much time for this and it looked difficult. The existing mesh parts for the beach were not suitable to build a wide beach also. And we could count on 50 to 60 guests on one Friday. So we needed enough space forr the event. And there should also be access to the water. The wider beach was quickly found, also here there is an excellent mesh kit of Studio Skye, extra for a tropical beach. This would be wide enough and it should be possible to use it. Only there were some changes at the ground of the sim essential. So we dared the reconstruction, the area in the north-west corner had to be lowered, the club which we had built for the Luau had to move.

Fortunately Misty is also very good in Secondlife's landscape building. We deleted the club and moved everything we needed later, and Misty rebuilt the landscape. It was impressive how quickly she adapted the landscape. Now the new beach fitted, and Misty could rezzen the club to make it a transition. Then we added the palm trees, redesigned the access to the club and moved the small beach house with the pier. And we had our beach, it was even more beautiful than we had imagined before. It is really realistic, maybe aside the garden one of the most beautiful spots in the Sunshine Realm. Just come by and take a look. Play with the windlight and enjoy the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. It's still a temporary place, maybe we'll replace it soon. But we also know now that we can repeat it at any time. I used it for a new photo shoot, a beach impression

Now all I needed was my outfit. But I had already chosen that for the shooting. There I was actually finished, only that I had not applied the sand on the skin. But the hair was good, I had bought it especially for the shoot, my bikini was fresh but not offensive. It was all ready and I could only wait.

Now we were curious. Of course we asked ourselves again and again how our group would accept the new event. What our friends would say. Would they like it as much as we do? We were in the Club Room before and already there we talked about the event. And we went to the beach at 4 pm. The first ones were already there.

And it quickly got fuller, the worry that we could end up standing alone on the beach, so we could already forget. DJ Valantine had put together a good set for the beach and entertained us once again very well. We all danced on the beach, some used the water.

Fortunately there were no sharks. And some who really only came for the contest stayed at the Beach Club because they didn't want to be so far away from the contestboard. So a nice event developed, together with many of our friends who had come.

In the end there were almost 60 people, the fluctuation was lower, so in the end there were 55 people together at the event. Another very good result. Because a lot of people also took part in the contest, we increased the winning amount to 1,250 L$. We were still restless by the bad experiences we had a week here. So I got up on the contestboard again, this time with a cape and sword and shield, tomorrow we have a Viking event. The usual speech, we would watch the board, and all deletions, which would click fast one after the other. Then the voting started, we had 48 people in the contest.

Unfortunately again some have learned nothing, I had to remove 4 persons, and unfortunately I could not identify all so fast. This caused an overload of the board again, some votes were counted too much, and other had problems to vote. Now it's a contest in split mode, some votes would be neutralized by taking out the wrong behaving participants. That's why we let the Contest continue. And by the intervention the board had recovered again and all participants could voting. It's a pity that some simply don't learn, and cause trouble again and again. We finished the contest with 50 votes.

As always, we stayed together for the after-party. We danced, were satisfied. And we talked about the coming week. It's Easter week. And Passover. Also the final GoT season starts this weekend. Well, we will save this one and do some simple event this week. We'll have a little less time for SecondLife, and many of our friends and guests will be, too.

The pictures from this event can be found in this Google Images Album.
