Passover

Passover Celebrations

Today is not only Good Friday for the Christian People, but this year is today also the beginning of the Passover week. Happy Pesach for all our Jewish Friends, and for all people around.

We invited our friends and guests to an special event in our temple on Mount Olympus above the Sunshine Realm. The temple is one of our most beautiful places in the Sunshine Realm and seems the best venue for this event. We decorated the place to make it more festive. Now we didn't want to exclude anyone, nor introduced anyone to the Jewish faith. Nevertheless it should be a festive and worthy setting. That's why we celebrated a ball night with formal clothes. We asked every visitor to follow this request to this and choose a formal outfit.

Especially the Easter week is a possibility to emphasize the openness of SecondLife. Now Easter is a Christian festival, at the same time Passover is mostly the most important Jewish festival. As Easter celebrates the rebirth of Christ, Passover reminds us of the exodus from Egypt (Exodus), i.e. the end of the slavery of the Israelites. What both have in common is to celebrate a new beginning, the hope that lies just in spring. And this is certainly also to be found in all other religions and cultures. That's why we built the Sunshine Garden last year, and opened the central Easter event for all cultures with the "Celebration of Spring". Because what we have in common makes the earth colourful and beautiful, not to exclude or prejudge it, no walls should separate people and cultures.

We met again at 4pm. Of course a formal ball is something special. So we were curious who would come and which clothes we would see. When I arrived punctually at 4pm, the first guests were already there. Most of them followed ours please and choosen formal clothes. Unfortunately there are always exceptions, so some came with rather unsuitable clothes for the occasion, others were so complex that they exceeded every measure. Still others had problems with rezzing and then ran into others without orientation. It was a normal event, and in the beginning there was a lot to sort out, some to ask to change clothes or to change conspicuous group tags, others to kindly admonish to show consideration for others. Sadly are some only interested to join to contest or to get tips in the shadow of our events without to show a minumum for respect.

But most came with nice dresses and suits and made the place so amazing again. I must repeat this again and again, we may plan events, we may build new places or decorate them for special events, but our friends and guests make the place so special at end. Thank you to all friends, who were there today. All guests had fun and DJ Valantine played the music for us that evening. Quickly groups formed who danced together, or couples.

Usually it is a little quieter on holidays in SecondLife. Many are on the way to celebrations or meet in real life. So we didn't expect so many visitors today. But there were a little more than 40 guests. Among them also some new ones. Unfortunately some of our friends were missing, whom we all missed very much. Since not everyone could stay, 36 people were together in our temple.

Of course there was another contest. We loaded 1,000 L$ into our contest board and opened it in split mode. Most of the guests took part in this contest. Unfortunately it was a bit laggy today. The difficulties in Secondlife in the last weeks may have left their traces. Or it were many beautiful outfits that caused delays with their complexity and scripts. Whenever the board gets slower, some react with hectic click series on the board instead of waiting. So I contacted everyone again and asked them to be considerate. After that, the voting went reasonably smoothly and we were able to count 27 votes.

And there was also another celebration. Of course many of the guests left the party after the contest. Unfortunately also some of our friends did not stay for this special part of our events. So Valantine continued to play the music, we also danced freely again and there were pretty lingerie to see. But the fun and the conversation was missing, it was rather quiet. Some just waited for the next tip and couldn't post more than a gesture with a sign. It's a pity that some people can influence a place like that, and it's a pity that someone who sees herself as a friend should help to solve the problems, take a step back and above all contribute to enriching an event by chatting locally. They never take part in an open discussion, do not entertain the guests and do not follow the topics.

Fortunately, you can delete them from our memories, and can derezzing avatars temporarily.

Like usual are more pictures in a Google Images Album.
