Tartan Day

Gaelic Heritage Day

Today is Tartan Day. Tartan Day celebrates the current and historic links between Scotland and Scots abroad. In the USA there are over 11 million people of Scottish descent who are very proud of the transatlantic connection. And from here, the tradition of Tartan Day has spread all over the world, and has also arrived in SecondLife and the Sunshine Realm. Today we celebrated our "Gaelic Heritage Day" and went to the Sunshiner's Pub.

Today Polpeta was our DJ for the main event and provided good entertainment with a mix of traditional Scottish music and current celtic music.

It wasn't as crowded as the night before, but we quickly had a good crowd of friends and guests in our pub. And again most of us thought about an outfit, so we had men with kilt, red-haired women in red or plaid dresses, and also some in traditional dresses. It was a colorful crowd.

We talked and we danced together. Some as a couple, others as a small group. It was nice to be with friends at Sunshiner's again.

After the bad experiences during the Hawaiian Luau of the day before I was very excited if the contest would work. I had written it yes, the general lag value of the previous day did not explain the problems. So I admonished everyone again, asked everyone to behave sensibly and to be considerate to all the others who just wanted to celebrate, and just wanted to take part in the contest on the side.

In the end, 25 voted and everything went smoothly. There was only a warning on the side, but everything could be clarified without intervention.

Then at 6pm DJ Yuimetal came and took over the entertainment for the after-party. She increased the tempo, and our friends and some of the guests stayed for the afterparty.

Of course there was a lot of naked skin to see again. It's an after-party in the Sunshine Realm and not in the nunnery. Or, who knows what happens behind the closed gates of a monastery? In any case, our gates are wide open and everyone is invited. There is no admission fee to participate in an event with us. We are happy about every support, but nobody is forced to. Just stop by, have a look at one of our events, and maybe you'll come back.

As always, there are more pictures. Just have a look at this Google Images Album. And maybe we can welcome you at the next event. Only this much will be revealed for this week. It will be an extreme week with contrasts, and while you need an umbrella and rubber boots on Tuesday, you should pick out sunscreen again for Friday.
