Hangover Breakfast

The year is over and New Year's Eve is over. Some have a heavy head. That's why we opened our year with a hangover breakfast. We invited our guests and friends to come as they are, perhaps still in the evening dress of New Year's Eve, pajamas, or a comfortable house suit. We wanted starting the New Year with a party in the Sunshiner's Pub. 

But we did not really expect many visitors. The pub is a cosy place, we had put away most of the Christmas decorations. But what happened that evening, none of us had foreseen.

Unfortunately we still miss DJ Valantine. We are all very worried, and hope she is doing well, or she is on the road to recovery and will be back soon. Maybe she is following this blog at this time. If so, we all miss you and wish you all the best. So DJ Polpeta took over the entertainment again and had again prepared a very nice set for the evening. And since there was no event in the Club Room, we already met a little before. And also the first guests were there before.

Nevertheless it all started more like a normal event. The guests came, we danced and had fun. But then we noticed that we did not know many of the guests. And it got fuller faster than usual. We had opened a contest in split mode as usual and filled the jackpot with 1,000 L$, but since there were already more than 30 participants after one hour, we became aware that something very special could happen today.

Shortly after the half time at 5pm there were already more than 50 guests in the pub. It became fuller, we had a lot to sort out. Then we increased the jackpot to 1,250 L$ and invited again in the group. Now 54 guests are already not bad, but it should not be over yet. Already 10 minutes later there were over 60 guests, so that we put another 250 L$ into the jackpot ourselves.

But that was not the end. A few minutes later we doubled the jackpot to 3,000 L$ because we received a generous donation from a friend. And there were even more guests. And there were many new ones. Perhaps a result that it now costs 50 L$ to enter a date in the central calendar of SecondLife, and we are more visible. As an Adult rated region we are not shown as a club or hotspot and do not listen in the external search. So there were first reports at 6:30pm that some did not come to us. There were no neighbours in the Sim, but in our pub there were more than 70 visitors. And somehow there is this premium user rule, that the last reserves are always reserved for premium users.

But there were still more, there were almost 80 people in the pub and we had more than 100 visitors over the evening. Some had to leave before and couldn't stay until the end, others only came to the After-Party. So we had a lot of visitors in the Susnhine Realm for more than 3 hours and reached a traffic value of over 10,000 (10,522) with one event for the first time. Just to think, 24/7 without bots with dancers hardly reach 6,000, and we have organized an event while the sim is empty for more than 20 hours a day. This is also a remarkable result.

And one more thing happens. We've had the most visitors in one event since we've been running the Sunshine Realm. The previous record was "Venice at Night" in August 2019 with 74 guests at the same time and a total of 90 visitors at one event. But at that time there were also more than 65 guests registered for the contest. And that was not even the biggest number. Today there were only 62 participants. Of course we were worried, so many participants and the sim full, would everything work? But the contest board worked without problems and we were able to collect 61 votes in less than 20 minutes. All participants were really disciplined.

We can only thank everyone. Of course there were some things to clarify during the event and I also gave 2 people a short time to think about it before they could come back to us. And some needed help to reach us. But compared to many other events before, this event was also easy from the organizational side. And in the end it was like a rush.

And then there was another record. We started last year with 780 members in our Sunshine Rocker group. And we hoped after a fast growth also over the summer to reach the 1,000 soon. By Halloween at the latest, but it was an up and down, and it didn't work out. Then we hoped to do it over Christmas, but it seemed like 990 is the limit around which the number fluctuated. So the year ended with 999 members. Just once there were 1,000 for one event, and today after that many new guests came and joined the group. The board showed 1,010 members at the end of the event. 

The next day there were even 1,011 members, the boards do not update in real time. Now we hope to have over 1,000 members in our group permanently, and maybe even add new members.

Of course there was also an After-Party. DJ Polpeta kept us entertained. Some friends came to the After-Party first. We stripped and danced in lingerie and even topless and naked. or only with socks. We were all very exuberant after a wonderful evening and laughed a lot.

And that was also new that evening. Many of the new guests also stayed for the after-party, so after the payout of the winnings it quickly became empty, but there were still more than 20 people longer in the pub and celebrated.
