GoT - Special @ Sunshine Realm

Winter is Coming

We had our last GoT event in the spring time. We were then the place where we had previously celebrated our event "The strong Girls of Hedeby", and had rebuilt the Viking village to our own Winterfall and even the dragons did not miss. We celebrated our GoT special there with a lot guests and an amazing vibe. Now the summer is over again and the winter is slowly approaching. Time to took up this topic again and celebrated our next GoT special with "Winter is coming". We went to the Realm of Shades, the old gothic church ruin and the castle yard with the cemetery in front of it.

Maybe we chose the name of the event unhappily. Many people asked us why we are going to winter and if we are going to wear winter clothes. So we probably made some guests insecure. Generally such a special topic is also complicated for many. They don't have suitable clothes and don't want to go shopping. So we already counted on fewer guests at the beginning. But many of us love this topic, are fans of the TV series "Game of Thrones" and have been looking forward to every new season. Well, also the TV series is finished, the advertising trailers disappeared from the internet and television. It would be difficult. But we do such events primarily for ourselves and our friends, and not necessarily for the guests.

We came to the Realm of Shades just before 4pm and it was all prepared. Also the first friends were already there and soon the first guests came. Our old gothic church ruin is already something special and also with the churchyard and the castle walls in front of it, the old cemetery with the ringing of the church bells. So the atmosphere was right from the beginning and after a few minutes the dragons appeared and watched over us. It was really nice, and this atmosphere will surely stay in our memories for many of us. DJ Valantine entertained us this night with a set of rock music.

However, this event was not what we expected, and in the end there were only 32 visitors, so we just reached the number of visitors of our "Lumberjack Event" in August. And in the end there were only 24 people together at the event, so we are even behind the loggers, and very close to the worst attended event so far "construction workers" in April. Only these two events were on a Tuesday, and today is Friday. Of course we thought about why this happened. Some of our friends couldn't attend because there were urgent appointments in the RL. Also the Halloween time starts with exciting events in SecondLife, and many of our guests might have had invitations to openings, and followed them. Maybe also because these topics are much easier. And maybe this time we didn't manage to bring the topic closer to our guests. In the past week we were also more occupied with real life.

We won't be able to change it anymore, and in the end it wasn't that bad. Because those who were there had a lot of fun, some had fun before when they prepared everything. And that's what makes SecondLife so exciting. That we have fantasies and can then implement them. So just minutes before the event I changed my mind and changed from a rather medieval dress to a combat suit with swords and knifes, inspired by Arya Stark. She was an assassin and the avenging angel of the TV series due to her training in the "House of Black and White". And Misty came back with an outfit reminiscent of the assassins. Maybe it's no coincidence, we're both reading the books of the "Throne of Glass" book series and maybe the pictures have guided our fantasy and also here. But also all the others had found very good outfits again.

Of course we also had another contest and put 1,000 L$ into the jackpot. It stayed that way, we didn't exceed the 30 participants limit, nor were there any donations today. But there were also clearly fewer participants, so that in the end the individual profit share was not to be despised. The voting went very well and without problems. So we were able to finish the event on time. We invited everyone for the events on Saturday and when most of the guests left, it was time for our After-Party.

DJ Valantine continued to entertain us. We danced together as usual, and changed our costumes to lingerie, or at least pulled out and danced topless. But also here many of our friends weren't there, of course. We all said goodbye against 6 pm. Hopefully tomorrow it will be a bit fuller again, but September, like this event, will fall short of our expectations. We won't be able to save that with the last event tomorrow.

There are more pictures I have put together in a Google Images Album. Have fun browsing through them. And as always the reference to our "Upcoming Events". Maybe you are also a resident of SecondLife and would like to drop by.
