Preparation of the "Nightmare before Christmas" event

Normally I always write a report about the events after we finished it. And before that all information is mostly on the blog page "Upcoming Events". Today it's different. I write a blog before an event about the preparations and some surprises. Tonight at 4pm we start again into a party weekend at the Sunshine Realm. And as a contrast to the pre-Christmas time and because today is Friday the 13th, it will be a slightly different event. Today it's time again for a night of nightmares. Our event today is "Nightmare before Christmas", before we go into the winter time and enjoy the advent season.

Now we are in the middle of the pre-Christmas season and Advent. But only bells ringing and Christmas is too much. This event takes us back to the dark world. But bells ring in our old church ruins too. It almost seems Halloween has returned. It's Friday the 13th! Are you superstitious? Do you believe in ghosts and beings from the shadow world? You should definitely have strong nerves when you come to this event. Because this event could be taken from your nightmares. We want to make a scary break from the pre-wine Christmas time and go with you in our Realm of Shades. And who knows what is waiting for you when you come to the church ruin.

Which figures are haunting your nightmares? Werewolves and vampires, ghosts or assassins? Or is it Jeckll and Hyde, Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers or Frankenstein? Show us your creativity and create a character from your nightmares. I'm sure many of the guests who just come for the contest will be zombies again. I hope most of the friends and guests will try a little harder. Just such a topic offers a lot of possibilities in SecondLife. I have long thought about which outfit I would choose today. And then I decided for leather, and the pointed canines of a thirsty vampire girl.

And that's the second part of today's challenge. You need a mask today. What kind of mask doesn't really matter, is it a muzzle to prevent the vampires from drinking blood, a Venetian carnival mask, maybe a medieval black plague mask, a face mask as surgical nurse or a gas mask. It should match your outfit and complement it. So surprise us. Like most events, it's a challenge again.

Now we not only have to find an outfit ourselves, but also have to prepare the venue. Now the Realm of Shades itself is special and perfect for such an event. We had added a pew and an altar, fog and strobe lights. And we could have finished with that. But then we thought about a surprise. We built the Winterland 2019/2020 last night and now the Winter is back at Sunshine Realm. It was a lot fun to build a new fairytale land. And with this was the following idea born.

While we were designing the new Winterland on the ground, it also crept into the Realm of Shades. When we checked the venue today, everything was under a meter thick layer of freshly fallen snow and the snowfall still continues. We unpacked the snow pushers and brooms and cleared a way to the ruined church. The ruin is heated by glowing coal in braziers, but for the way you should put on a warm coat and sturdy shoes. 

In any case, the event will take place as planned, we will not let the winter stop us from celebrating with our friends and guests. We will certainly have a lot of fun with the topic "Nightmare before Christmas" and even if Friday the 13th brought us the snow, the Realm of Shades is now ready for this event.
