Silver and Gold Formal

The highlight of this month. We went back to the Sunshine Temple to celebrate with this event our great Christmas Gala Night. And it was the last official public event in 2019 too. Our end-of-year celebration. And its formal again and was a dream in gold or silver. It was  a strict formal event, we expected evening attire. And it should be gold & silver.  

We prepared our Sunshine Temple on the Mount Olymp for an unforgettable night. Not only had we decorated the Temple, but winter had also arrived on Mount Olympus. The area around was snowed in and the cypresses were replaced by trees full of snow. Thus the Temple had a totally new atmosphere. There were tables with champagne and at the entrance two servants to welcome the guests. The temple looked simply magical in the nightly light.

We planned to finish the year 2019 with  a wonderful event and hired 2 live singers and 2 DJs. After DJ Yui would opened the event, Joaquin Gustav and Sultry Sonata Masterson were to follow with live sets before DJ Polpeta would finish the evening and play for our After-Party. But first of all it comes differently than secondly you planned before. Sultry canceled her gig sadly. She was busy in RL and couldn't perform tonight. We decited to stretch the gig of Joaquin Gustav and Polpeta to close the gap instead to seek another singer. We were all sad about this, but we will try to hire Sultry for another special event in 2020 so soon as possible. And the most important rule in Secondlife is "RL First!".

We chose the Sunshine Temple because we had some breath-taken events here. And special some wonderful formal dance nights. We believed this wouldn't be other tonight. We planned a contest with 2,500 L$ in split mode and final of 2019 and would close the board randomly at the evening.

I had decided on a dreamlike golden dress from Utopia. I had already bought another one, but then I saw this one and fell in love with it. I had to have it. Luckily I had matching shoes with it. Then there was the search for matching jewellery and make-up.  And lingerie for the after party that would match the makeup and jewelry. It was a nice preparation time. 

But it is always nice to see what beautiful outfits our friends and guests choose. It is always a challenge, and it is nice to see how many people join in and follow us. And with their outfits they make the events something special. 

We opened the event at 3pm with DJ Yui. She accompanies us for a long time, so we were happy that she were here this evening as well. She entertained us for an hour before Joaquin Gustav entered the stage a bit late after 4pm. We bridged that briefly with the Sim- radio, which did not break the mood. Unfortunately in SL we are always dependent on the internet. And Joaquin had trouble connecting today. 

Joaquin Gustav is a singer from Buenos Aires in Argentina and plays his guitar really amazing. He is our friend and has done many gigs for us at the Sunshine Realm and Club Room in 2019, but also at some of our private parties. So we were very happy to have him with us for our year-end final. 

Also during the gigs, connection problems haunted Joaquin, and he lost the connection for a few minutes. But DJ Polpeta reacted quickly and started with her set. She had prepared a lot and played some of the most beautiful classical songs. Odette, Lorica and Fiona took over the task of the orchestra and stood on stage with Polpeta, we had a lot of fun with it, thanks to all who participated, but a special thanks to Polpeta who once again well prepared used a theme to make something special.

When Joaquin Gustav came back, Polpeta interrupted her set, so Joaquin could finish his set. It is always nice to follow his virtuoso guitar playing and singing. We had a lot fun with his gig again and danced together to his music.

Actually, we had planned after Joaquin originally Sultry Sonata Masterson for a performance. With her enchanting voice she would have enchanted us for sure, and the beautiful Sunshine Temple would have been a good setting. But she had commitments in RL, especially around Christmas time and between the years it is sometimes difficult. And this is the most important rule in SecondLife: "RL first". So short term it was not possible to find a replacement. And I think we did not want that at all. We extended the sets of Joaquin and Polpeta to close the hole that was created.

So DJ Polpeta took over the entertainment again and continued her already started set for the cheeky after-party. It was really successful and we had a lot of fun. We stripped like usual and the dress codes was canceled for this. Together we danced topless and let a wonderful evening with our friends come to an end.

There were more than 70 visitors that evening. Of course, not all of them followed the dress code, so again many were sent home today. Some of them had an insight and changed to the desired evening dress. Others stayed away, and there were also those who complained and left the group. But I have written it often, also in the RL there are dress rules for events, and it would be inappropriate to come to a ball in beach clothes. If you can't remember, here a blogpost about this. Nevertheless we reached our goal and had many visitors. And we missed our goal, permanently 1,000 group members again only just. At the end of this event we had 999 members.

We had announced that we would open the contest today with a jackpot of 2,500 L$. Therefore we did not increase the jackpot when more than 30 participants registered. Since there were no donations, we ended the evening with this jackpot. The voting went well and 43 persons voted. And even if the board crashed in the end, the payout still worked well. So the last contest 2019 was finished, and we said goodbye to our guests and hope that everybody will join us in the new year.

At the end of the main event there were also fireworks again. Especially the temple with the marble and the background with the snowy mountains formed the frame for a really nice fireworks and it was a nice finale for a very successful year at the Sunshine Realm.

The after party did not last until 8pm. We stripped, some of us had chosen lingerie with a silver and gold theme. So it was fun, and many of the friends stayed.

Of course, many of them leave the events after the jackpot has been paid, but this is good for the atmosphere during the after-parties, makes it more family-like. Some probably think that they are private parties, but they remain public events. So everyone can participate, and even if it's just pixels dancing, but the Sunshine Girls are good to look at. And there is no entrance fee, nobody has to tip, and can still be there up close.

Today there are even two albums with pictures. The first one with pictures of the Preparation time. And then the allbum with the pictures I took during the event time.
