Launch to the Moon (Sunshine Moon Landing Week)
On 16 July 1969, the Apollo 11 Mission to the Moon was launched. We want to make this mission 50 years later the subject of a special week, and will following the steps of the moon mission with events. Today we started our own journey to the moon. As command center for this mission and as venue for this week we have bring a space station to the Sunshine Realm. Bic did rezzed the station about the Sunshine Realm's "Trails End Music Hall" and "Sunshine Garden" and Misty filled and decorated it with a lot of her cool stuff. Here will be held the 3 events this week. The first of this events was today the "Launch to the Moon". We hoped that the launch will succeed under the direction of Yezika, our DJ for this night. Our Events were planned before and independent of the SecondLife Challenge (#Apollo50th, #Apollo50, #Apollo11, #SecondLifeChallenge). But you can use our Sim and events well to make really fantastic pictures and take part at the Challenge. People with improper clothes and conduct destoying the special mood for all and inhibit the chance for great pictures.
With this events we follow up the very successful parties in Space Station 1 above the Sunshine Cove Beach Club. Here we had an awesome Superhero party and a stunning SciFi party in November 2017.
All others Events this week are themed too with the Moon Launch and Arrival. Many were unsure what to wear and have asked me. I said to all that it would be boring certainly, if now everyone would come as astronauts. They are SciFi events in the broadest sense.
Therefore everything was possible that goes in the SciFi direction, space troopers and aliens, space researchers and members of the enterprise crew. But of course I did choose a Nasa like uniform and everyone could come also in an space uniform. So i was very curios to see my friends and the guests with costumes. What would our guests choosen?
And of course we were curious again whether our guests would accept the topic and how many would come. We had a new venue, a current but not everyday topic. It is always exciting. And even if I repeat myself, it is summer in the northern hemisphere, especially July is difficult every year and many clubs close their doors forever during this time. And we were also positively surprised this time. But let's start at the beginning.
Just in time at 5pm came Yezika and Ruby Nightwish. They too had chosen wonderful outfits, and Ruby flew to the stage with her rocket backpack. Yezika had put together a wonderful program for the evening and started with it. Also that she had some technical problems and crashed twice, and we used the radio for a short time, couldn't break the good mood. It was a good evening from the beginning. And the guests came quickly and filled the main deck of our Space Station with life. Most of them had chosen really wonderful costumes.
The spectrum ranged from various space travelers to aliens and androids. It is really fantastic what is possible in SecondLife. And what wonderful ideas our friends and guests have. Some guests came without costumes, fortunately they were in the minority. And some came to us for the first time and promised to come the next time with an appropriate outfit. Unfortunately, there are always friends who see it as a waste of time and L$ and are so disrespectful to just come in an inappropriate outfit. But it's no different in SecondLife than in the real life. When I go to a nightclub, I wear the little black cocktail dress and expect a suit from men. And nobody would let me in the nightclub in a belly free shirt and denim hot pants. God thanks are this the minority too. Many friends surprise us every time with stunning outfits. We can be really happy. And we are at a good way.
And in numbers, this party was also excellent. Not only because it was a Tuesday event, and usually a little less attended. We really hit the mark with this event, and had published the event again in the SecondLife Scheduler. So we could welcome 16 (!!!) new members into our group. Now we have 917 members. This is the biggest increase since months. And the positive trend of last months continues. We had 65 visitors and at the end there were 57 together in our Space Station. This time we started the contest with 2,000 L$ (S). It's a special event series this week and we wanted to start with a little bang, which we succeeded in doing. And 47 of the guests had registered for the contest. The voting went very smoothly and we finished on time. All participants were able to vote in the time.
And also today we started our After-Party. It's already difficult to go to the toilet in a space suit when a woman has to pee quickly. But stripping is really a challenge. So we all had only our panties on. Yezika played a bit longer and it was a funny group that stayed together.
Anyway, we had a lot of fun. And it became extremely hot in our space station at the Sunshine Realm. You should really stop by. The after-parties are public and the Sunshine Realm is a Sim for adults. You don't have to dance naked yourself, but you can, of course. And you can believe me, Sunshine Girls are really really hot and candy for your eyes.
I repeat myself every time. I write this blog because I love it. And I also like to take many pictures of these events. So you can find hints to my Google Images Albums under most blog posts. And I have really collected a lot of pictures. Also for this event there is a special album at Google Images and maybe you want to explore it. Sometimes pictures just say more than words. If you want to visit us, on my blog page "Upcoming Events" you can find the information for the next events. And if you just want to drop by, here is the landmark for the Sunshine Realm. We would be happy to welcome you, too.
