Blues, Boos & Brew

Blues, Boos & Brew

This Saturday night October 19th invited we our guests and friends for our Blues, Boos and Brews event. This was Sunshine Realm's 6th event in our October Halloween themed extravaganza. This event featured Blues music, Ghostly Halloween costumes and lots of beer and wildness. The idea behind this event was a rocking college party - Halloween style. So we asked our guests to put on a costume, grab a beer and join us at our "Blues, Boos and Brews party for some rocking blues music and great fun. The term "Boos" clearly referenced ghosts so the costumes should be scary and spirited. We looked forwarded to a lot guests who came to spending a fun and exciting evening with the Sunshine Realm gang!

We planned this event first in the Sunshiner's Pub. But through the courageous and resolute effort of the zombie hunters at our "Night of Walking Dead" event it was possible to recapture the place in front of the "Haunted Manor" in the swamp aside of the Realm of Shades and to expel the zombies back to the otherworld. So we moved it to the regained place in the Realm of Shades because its possible, that more Beings and Witches coming to this event and the space could be to less for all in our Sunshiner's PubAnd the atmosphere in the swamp is now also special, especially for a Halloween event. Of course we wanted to take advantage of that.

We wanted to celebrate relief of the Realm of Shades this evening. So we came back to the place in front of the house in the swamp. Here we wanted make a more general halloween party together with our friends and guests. All kinds of Halloween costumes were allowed, if we celebrated that we could fight back this place from the undead. We arrived shortly before the event and as always it was fun to see what everyone had done with the topic. Today our DJs changed sets at very short notice because Yuimetal had a gig with hers BabyMetal tribute group. So DJ Polpeta started our event at 4pm with scary and funny Halloween music mixed with some blues. The originally planned blues set would then follow for the after-party.

When is an event successful and when is not. Of course we are always happy about many guests and if you follow my blog you might get the impression that the number of visitors is the deciding factor. In fact, it's often the other events. Also today I got an IM, how much fun it is to accept the challenge and to find an outfit, as a couple maybe even a corresponding outfit. And that starts hours and maybe even days before the event. And that's what we make possible with our events.

Today more Sunshine Girls and guests asked me what to wear. This also shows the special thing that most of them want to take part in this challenge and not just take an outfit and come. So our events, which always follow special themes, are exciting on the one hand. But for some of the guests who are just looking for company or just want to come for the contest and get some L$, it's rather daunting. Thus the number of visitors at the end is a deceptive information. So just around Halloween a lot of events take place in other Sims, and some might even attract with higher prices.

Now more than 40 visitors are certainly good for many clubs. But for us it's also below average. After all, 33 were together on the event place and danced, and DJ Polpeta had again made a lot of effort and put together the set accordingly to the topic. So it was a wonderful evening and also most of our friends could come by and spend at least a part of the party with us. It is really very important to have our friends there. And to see that they participate actively. I can only thank them for that.

In many of the last blogs you could also read that we had serious problems in the Sim after all. Visitors were almost frozen in the lag, the INTAN's didn't work anymore, and the worst were the contests. While our landmanagers keep looking at our neighbours Chant and especially us, our regions are overloaded and in the end two clubs are too much. And of course our guests who come to us with too many scripts and too much complexity. Well, we have several venues and our contestboards and also the INTAN dance systems are really very resource hungry. But our Sim is only visited 3 days a week, and only for 2 - 4 hours. And the same goes for Chant. And our clubs are anti-cyclical, because Chant comes from Australia. So we have always had a very good and beneficial cooperation in this region, which we do not want to give up. So we have also never build border walls between our Sims, and created a common image. And this since nearly 2 years, in SL is this an eternity. Well, what can I say? We drew the attention of our land managers to a new neighbour who also wanted to build a club. And even if we ourselves cause the lag and our problems, these are blown away after the neighbour gave up his plans and the land is for rent again. A rogue who now draws conclusions, and a proof that neither Chant nor we, nor we together are the cause. We are happy that the last week was absolutely quiet and we had no difficulties at all.

We also had another contest. As always, we filled the jackpot at the beginning of the event with 1,000 L$ and opened the contest in split mode. Since we had less guests today and also no donation took place it remained with this Jackpot. And I have already written that the Sim runs technically very evenly and well. So there were no problems with the voting and we could finish the main event at 6pm. All 26 participants had cast their votes. So we all said goodbye, but reminded everyone of the following after-party. And we remembered the following events in the Club Room tomorrow and at the Sunshine Realm on Tuesday. Most of them left, of course, after we distributed the winnings.

Then it was time for the after-party. DJ Yuimetal had arrived in the meantime and finally found his way through the swamp to us. So she took over the entertainment from 6pm and tuned her music stream in the sim. Now we still had our evening with blues music. It was a nice set and also music, which we hear only rarely at our parties. But that was exactly what we wanted. So it was a wonderful after-party. And I don't think I have to write it anymore. At the latest when it's called After-Parties it gets hotter at the Sunshine Realm and more erotic. So some of the Sunshine Girls danced topless again today and swapped their skirts and trousers for lingerie briefs. It was a wonderful conclusion of this event and the 2nd week of our Halloween season. Thanks to all who support us, who come to us and make our events what they are. Family meetings.

And also today I took a lot of pictures. Some very good shots, others maybe not so successful. But there are always snapshots and shots, from the movement. They also capture the mood of an event, and are not created with poses and light. I have used some of these pictures here in the blog post, most of course not all. But of course, there are always posed pictures for the preparation of the events. All these pictures together, from the preparation and later from the event itself, I have put again in a Google Images Album for you. Have fun browsing through them. We would be really happy to welcome you in our Sunshine Realm. Or to see you again, if you are already there or regularly. The next 4 events are Halloween celebrations before we continue with a first harvest festival in November. All information about the events can be found here in the blog on the page "Upcoming Events". Then you can prepare for the events in time. We also update this page regularly. So it's worth saving a bookmark for this page.
