Night of Witches and Warlocks

The first beings from the beyond have awakened, and the rift that connects the shadow world with our world begins to open slowly. Since there is a portal to the afterlife at the cemetery opposite the church ruin in the Realm of Shades, the witches and warlocks gather in the church ruin and organize a witch meeting and prepare the arrival with a witch dance. Their goal is to have the portal and cemetery appear on the surface of the Sunshine Realm for Halloween, so the undead can enter the street in front of and into the Sunshiner's Pub to take control of the whole Sunshine Realm. 

So we invited our friends and guests to our 2nd Halloween event and started the first weekend in the Halloween Season 2019. And we rebuilt the Realm of Shades for it and took away the festival place and added another eerie swamp. So we can hear the spooky noises again. You can see the fog gliding over the moor areas. The Realm of Shades will also be the center of our Sim about the Halloween time and so we were especially looking forward to this day and the opening of the rebuilt Realm of Shades. And to a special weekend, because also tomorrow there will be a very special event with our Steampunk Ball "Costumes & Cocktails".

Once again we were in the Club Room before and danced together and looked forward to the event. The tension has always been rising slowly and at the end we start to change. Shortly before 4pm we jumped to the Realm of Shades and we started. The first guests were already fast and already after 30 minutes 25 people were there. All had suitable costumes. Some men came rather as "modern" witchers. Ok, it's a possible interpretation, but maybe it also shows that women live in a different, more colourful imaginary world. Fortunately, some of our friends and guests prove again and again that this is only a prejudice. Today I can only thank Bic, Phil and Lorica, but also some of the guests had wonderful costumes. DJ Valantine entertained us with an awesome set of music with different styles. 

After the problems we were naturally anxious whether there would be technical problems again. The contest board reacted relatively fast, but there were lag problems which only affected one user. And then something new happened. I will try to talk to a land manager to find out the cause. Whether it was an attack, or the sim collapsed, or there was a reboot without warning, it was 4:40pm when almost all (or all) of the people present crashed. In an event this is a disaster. Also the contest board had lost all registrations, including the jackpots deposited. I have never experienced anything like this before. The outage log also shows a reboot of the sim at that time.

That most of the guests came back and we got away with the fright may be due to the special place and the exciting event. Some of us had spent some time preparing the outfits. Anyway, we were back after 5 minutes. Unfortunately there were also other phenomena later, so some dance HUDs behaved completely crazy. And some people complained about a bad lag and frozen cam, while the sim showed stable values and others had a passable FPS- rate. Is there a connection? I don't know. But slowly there are really many random and possibly unrelated issues that all started 2 weeks ago. Well, SecondLife may also have problems and the Halloween time is always especially critical. We can't do much more as to wait and observe the problems. And if new issues appeating can we react and find solutions.

Anyway, it was a wonderful event and it became full in our church ruin. Everyone danced and we laughed a lot. Altogether we had fat 70 guests on this evening and the highlight were 52 people who were together in the Sim. So the church was really well filled. After the crash of the Sim we had of course filled the contestboard with 1,000 L$ and started again. Already after a short time more than 30 people were registered and it was time to increase the jackpot. Then fortunately two anonymous donations of 500 L$ came and we were able to double the jackpot. A little later there was a large and generous donation and we could double the jackpot again and now it was 4,000 L$. Of course we were very nervous after the problems of the last two events.

So we closed the board earlier than usual. We were also enough participants and visitors. We had 52 guests and friends there. And we didn't just want to give the board a break before the voting started. We also noticed that some of our guests who don't actively participate in our events always come later and then arrive 5 minutes before the end. They optimize more and more. We want to reward active guests at our events and not distribute L$ to people who come 5 minutes before the end and are not really interested in the event. Maybe the message will arrive.

The voting went smoothly and after 15 minutes all votes were collected. So we could finish the main event and said goodbye to our guests. Of course we invited everyone to come back. Of course we pointed out our Steampunk Ball, the second highlight of this weekend and the Halloween season. We hope that many will come again. And after we stagnated in September and even lost members in the Sunshine Rocker group, things are now going up again. So we were able to win 8 new group members in the last two Halloween events. Maybe this year it will still be possible to celebrate the 1,000 members.

Afterwards we went to the After-Party as usual. DJ Valantine continued playing. She had kept some beautiful songs for this time, and so it was a special time. We especially enjoy it because the excitement of the event with its preparations is over. And we are shining our tits and exchanging our clothes for lingerie. So there is something for everyone. We had laughed during the event, and it went again in the "Little Lorica". So it was also wonderful that Lorica didn't show off and we could see the body in its natural beauty. Thank you Lorica. I wish more men would come to our after-parties and then join us. But, it is not a duty and nobody should stay away because he could be embarrassed.

Around 8pm our after-party ended and we all disappeared into bed one after the other. A nice evening was over, with some ups and downs and problems, but still wonderful.
