Festival of Frights

Today we celebrated our Horror Movie Festival in Sunshine Realm. Maybe it's the scariest and bloodiest event of the year. Maybe a bad omen? Scared? Well, than were our friends and guests in the right mood for this event. Because we tried it again today with our "Festival of Fright". The scary fun begans, and we hoped that many people would join us? 

And it wasn't the first event with this special theme. This is a kind of tradition here too, but we didn't use this name for it so far. We made it in 2017 as our "Horror Movie Halloween". We moved the event to my old homeland and the underground garage. It was the 2nd event in the garage where later the Sunshine Realm started. The name of the garage would changed to "Haunted Garage" for this event and we used this name nearly a half year. 

The second horror movie event was planned as our "Scare in the Warehouse" 2018. This is the event with never took place because we had a lot lag and  trouble in the sim and moved for a restart of the sim to the Club Room without contest. The landmanager didn't make the restart, we waited and couldn't back and the event failed. It was the one event which we canceled in all the time at the Sunshine Realm. We hoped that this wasn't a bad omen, and its seems between really that the the worst possibilities could come true today.

And that's how problems started. An unscheduled maintenance of Secondlife made the use of the Inventory almost impossible for many. Some had gone to a lot of efforts to put together outfits, and for a while it looked like it was all for nothing. There were also problems with the login. So just before 4pm we decided to go on standby and to start the event and contest later. So we called the guests to stay calm. We would definitely try to run the event and contest. We changed to the Sunshine Realm before, and DJ Valantine also started with her set. So we could catch the visitors who somehow made it to the Sunshine Realm or didn't read the notices.

Some came after all. However, there were many problems with the clothes, but that didn't break the mood. The problems in SecondLife weren't solved, but at least we could log in again and the people would be able to participate. Everything else was just a question of time and took much longer and maybe had to be repeated. Therefore we postponed the final start date to 4:45pm, but then it should definitely start. We really wanted to start our Festival of Frights and we didn't want to wait any longer. So we started with a flying start and we officially started the event and opened the contest with 1,000 L$. Hopefully the payment would work.

DJ Valantine entertained us with a good mixed halloween set und many of our friends and guests came to the old Church Ruin in the Realm of Shade and wore wonderful costumes of an Horror or scared movie to join us. We used spooky or scared movies this night as inspiration. We asked before to come as bloodthirsty vampires, vengeful mummies, ghastly ghosts, beauties and blobs from outer space, mad doctors, psycho killers, vampires, werewolves and much more! And we saw much more.

Well, we started later. So the evening was already different. So it became very fast full and already after 30 minutes more than 35 people were in the ruin. It is a beautiful place, but especially in the entrance area it became very crowded. As always we had started the contest with 1,000 L$ in split mode like usual. But since more than 30 had already registered so early, we increased the winning amount to 1,250 L$. This evening, which was started with so many difficulties, turned out to be a great event night. Even though there were no donations today and the jackpot didn't increase any more, it was a wonderful evening. And there were more guests. In the end there were 60 people who came. Maybe a good sign for Saturday when we meet for our Witching Hour at Temple and hope that more guests will come. There were more than 51 people together in the ruin at the end. More than 40 of them were registered in the contest, but some had to leave us before. There were 38 left to vote, and 36 of them cast their votes. We finished the main event punctually at 6:45 pm and sent everyone home.

And then it was time for the after-party again. With this topic a new experience, I was curious what the others would do with it. I was also totally bloody and had some deep cuts in the skin. But even if the panties were bloody, after-party is a special moment. DJ Valantine had fought the whole evening with the adversities of SecondLife. Somehow she managed to make it work with the stream most of the time. But in the after-party she gave up, so we switched to the radio. But that was really ok, and thanks to Valantine for this additional effort to entertain us so well even in these difficult circumstances.

Of course it became more and more empty, it was already fat one hour later than usual. Around 8pm we all said goodbye and went to bed. A (scary) beautiful evening was over, but we were all looking forward to tomorrow, when we go back to the temple to our Witching Hour.
