Sunshine Motor Sports Day

Sunshine Motor Sports Day

The third Friday in May is NASCAR Day in the USA. NASCAR is probably the most popular motorsport series in the USA. Now our friends and guests come from all over the world. Even if there are now other assertions and slanderings, I come from Germany. Not only Formula 1 is very well known here in Germany, the DTM (German Touring Car Championship) is also very popular. The DTM is perhaps comparable with the NASCAR series, but is driven on normal racing tracks and not in oval.

We therefore want to use NASCAR Day to celebrate a motorsport event in the Sunshine Realm. Now we don't have a race track and the garage is no longer available. That's why we chose the venue with the most space and go with our friends and guests to the Trails End Music Hall.

Before I go into this successful event I would like to, no, I must write something general. Some don't understand what the Sunshine Realm means to many. But also especially for Misty and me. It's not the "business case", we don't want to earn anything with the Sunshine Realm. On the contrary, we invest a lot of time and Linden every week to present new events to our friends and guests. Therefore we are always looking for new topics. Some of these topics can be done very well at the already existing spots, but for others we have to rebuild, or we create completely new places, like the Burlesque Palace, The Viking Village or the Realm of Shades. Some of these places are really only meant for one event, but will stay longer and will be used again later. For example the Realm of Shades, our Counter-Earth. Or the Sunshine Garden, which today is certainly one of the most beautiful spots in the Sunshine Realm. We also part with successful places in order to make room for new ones. Like from the Sunshine Garage, the place where it all started here in the Sim. Or we get an old place back, like the Trails End Music Hall last year. The Sunshine Realm is constantly changing and remains so alive.

But even if we can use one of the existing locations, we need new decorations and sometimes other stuff, such as poses or new dances. We do some things ourselves, and often have help from friends, I would like to mention Bic, who helps us again and again with banners and other textures, and sometimes also provided the right light for an event. So an event can cost more than 10K L$, some were even more expensive, like "The strong Girls of Hedeby"or the Burlesque Event. But that's what makes SecondLife so special, to create dreams, to make fantasies visible, and so SecondLife lives through places like the Sunshine Realm, where Linden flow back to SecondLife, earn Creator and help to make Secondlife more interesting and colored, and all have their fun.

Unfortunately, of course, there are always people who have other goals. They don't want to invest in their own avatar, they don't want to buy clothes, they don't want to spend Linden on other people. They just want to get Linden and then more or less pull it out of SecondLife directly.  For this they also use ALTs and unfortunately very often other ways. Now we have started to clean up our Sunshine Girl group, we want active members who follow the topics and participate in the conversations in the local chat. We want Sunshine Girls who bring their friends with them without wanting to turn those into new Sunshine Girls. Everyone has to learn, this is not a club, we have different requirements and for us this place is family. And if we set these limits, then there will be attacks far below the belt, and slander that will be directed against individuals or the Sunshine Realm. And just this week was very special and demanded a lot from us. I had already reported some problems in the blogpost about "South of the Border Music Festival". And also today this continues. That's why this event was so important.

And also here still something to the ALTs, the accusations we would be a Zombietown and would support ALTs. Of course some of our guests come with ALTs. We may both be blond, but we're certainly not stupid. The contest in splitmode should lead to our guests inviting their friends and everyone getting a little bit of it. But of course we also attract those who walk through the beautiful world of SecondLife with several ALTs. They should really try to find real friends. But they are only extras as guests, they have to prepare themselves for the topics in the same way, they need a suitable outfit. And with that they make the event more colorful. In addition there is no procedure in SecondLife to recognize these. It would even be against the TOS to try it. They are extras like in a movie set. And nobody has to feel uncomfortable, nor does it make a living place like the Sunshine Realm to a zombietown. No, it makes the Sunshine Realm more colorful.  Or can you imagine a movie without extras? And if they have text in the film, would you expect that they speak?

It's different with Sunshine Girls. Unfortunately, in the past, women have tried again and again to join our group with ALTs, cheating on us and our guests. Some of them were particularly active in firing Gestures and always said how happy they were to be part of the family and to see all their friends again. Others were quiet and said that you don't have to make an effort for 50 cents. And some use the friendship and advantages to set a bad example instead of showing others how it works. And it is precisely these who later show their "friendship" in lies and slander. We have a figure of speech here in Europe, Voltaire is considered the source, some also call Frederick II the origin. But the saying is so true. "My God, protect me from my friends, I can deal with my enemies alone."

And of course we don't intend to let these haters destroy our Sunshine Realm, and we also don't want our friends not to come anymore, or even to leave SecondLife in the end. Probably we have already lost some on this way. And that's only because a few of them can't behave and bring a bad mood into the Sunshine Realm. Feeling disadvantaged even though they did not take part in the preparations nor support the open conversation in the local chat. We want our friends and guests to feel comfortable, welcome, and not just come to support us. We want to remain a colorful and open place in SecondLife.

Then there is the 2nd part of the preparation, and some of the Sunshine Girls and friends share it with us, is the right and fitting outfit. It's always a challenge, and we've always been curious, excited about what each one will wear. And we are really thankful and happy that we are in the middle of such a wonderful group.

But back to the event. We invited everyone with the sentence "Put on a driver overall or choose the outfit of the hot pit slut and come to our Sunshine Motor Sport Day" and waited for the guests at 4pm. In the beginning the bad mood of the last days seemed to come back, and the guests came only slowly. But Valantine grew beyond herself, and not only because she danced with Odette on the hood of a Porsche. She played a bombastic set, at the beginning with rather harder rhythms, which probably fit to a motorsport event. At the end she changed to quieter sounds and enchanted us, let us forget what was before and made us look forward to the next events. Thank you Valanine for this good entertainment.

And also the guests came then. All with more or less creative costumes, inspired by the theme. At the end there were more than 40 visitors, and 37 at the end together in the Trails End. Many had taken part in the contest, the voting went relatively smoothly and we were able to count 28 votes again. And the prize was divided among them.

Afterwards there was the usual after party. Of course again with a lot of naked skin and fun. At the end we could look back on a nice evening. There are many pictures in a Google Images Album, part of the shooting before, part of the event. Have fun looking through.

Maybe we can see you soon at one of our events in the grid of SecondLife.
