SL16B Party

Prepare Second Life Birthday (#SL16B)

On 23th of June 2003 the first version of SecondLife was released and with it this wonderful virtual world was created, which we residents often only call the "Grid". That was reason enough to celebrate the 16th birthday of SecondLife on this day and to thank Linden Lab. All of us would not have met, there would not be these friendships around the world, if it wasn't for SecondLife. There are a lot of different events around this birthday and we also wanted to have our #SL16B party. And SecondLife + summer, you think about beach, sun and fun. So we went to our beach again, but this time to the Beach Club. There we had prepared everything to celebrate this day together with our friends and guests.

And we were very curious again. Already our "Summer welcome" party the night before was very well attended, but I have written it often, a prediction is almost never possible. And especially the summer is often a difficult time in SecondLife. But SL16B is a topic that could bring a lot people to us. We had announced the event in the SecondLife Scheduler and maybe would join us some new guests too. Unfortunately our empty Sim was very slow before again. The problems that had already shown up on Tuesday at our "Lingerie Party" in the Sunshine Garden have unfortunately continued. And when the first guests arrived shortly before the event, the problems quickly intensified.  DJ Yuimetal was there a few minutes before and started her stream. So we began a little bit earlier, and the other Sunshine Girls came at 4pm from the Club Room. And then more guests came quickly.

The atmosphere was still very good, and since the Beach Club isn't really big, we all had to find a place. DJ Yuimetal had chosen modern music, a colourful mixture of house and trance. Maybe it wasn't for everyone's taste because we usually play rock, blues and country music in our clubs. But it was a good set and it was very well suited to SecondLife and this event. The music from the club sounded loud over the beach and we danced everywhere. It was difficult to move the CAM and take pictures, the FPS rate was very very low in the Sim tonight.

And it should be an evening of records. We haven't had so many visitors to one of our events since the successful "Heart On Fire" night to Valentine's Day in February. And that in the summer time and usually lesser people in the grid. Altogether there were 80 guests tonight. And of course some of them left before others came. But there were 63 together in the Sim around 6pm. So it got fuller and fuller in the club area, and some of them went to the beach.

It was a nice evening with friends and a lot of guests. And it didn't get any easier in the sim. Also DJ Yuimetal was haunted by bad luck and crashed. Fortunately her music stream continued until she managed to log in again after some attempts and come back to us. It took her 20 minutes to get back into our sim, and she crashed several times before she could be back with us.

And we were also able to welcome many new members to the group. We kept our fingers crossed as we had 894 members after yesterday. Would we reach the 900 members for the first time? And here, too, we made a precision landing and reached exactly 900 members tonight. Thus we continued our growth successfully in the last weeks against the general summer trend.

And we also had another contest like usual in split mode. We started it at 4pm with 1,000 L$ in the jackpot. Thanks to an anonymous donation we were able to increase it to 1,500 L$ after only 5 minutes. And as more than 30 participants were logged in for another hour, we raised the jackpot to L$ 1,750. At the end 55 people took part in the contest. With this Jackpot and participants count it went then also into the vote.

Of course we were seriously worried. A vote and high lag are a bad mixture mostly. Participants who vote get nervous when the board doesn't react quickly and then tend to touch the board several times in a row, creating even more lag. So we appealed once again to everyone to click only once on the board, so as not to cause additional lag. And luckily everyone was reasonable today, so we ended the contest at 6pm successful and paid out the winnings.

Then we went to the after-party. The first of us had already taken off the tops and let the tits swing naughtily while dancing to the Caribbean Summer music. DJ Yuimetal said goodbye, she was certainly happy to have survived the evening. DJ Polpeta took over the entertainment for the next 2 hours and played Caribbean music for us.  Even though most of the guests leave after the contest, this is always the most beautiful part of the evening. We can enjoy it, have finished the evening. And it gets more revealing, we can take off superfluous clothes and dance topless, naked or in sexy lingerie.

At 8pm the after-party was also over. Most of us went to bed. It was the end of a beautiful evening, most of our friends were there tonight and many of us will remember with pleasure.  Thanks Polpeta for the good entertainment and for really sending us to the Caribbean.

There are many more photos from this event, I've put them together as always in a Google Images Album. And if you want to stop by, on the page "Upcoming Events" you can find all information about the next events at the Sunshine Realm. We would be happy if you would stop by.

And especially at our after-parties it goes wild. There you get to see more than when you pay in other clubs in SL. You should really give it a try.
