Rainbow Colors

Rainbow Colors

Rainbow Colors! This was our 2nd event of our PRIDE Days 2019 at Sunshine Realm.  And we have invited our guests to join us in making the world a more colorful place. Nobody needs to be ashamed of being or feeling what he or she is. And the opposite of shame is in this week PRIDE. No one should hide and, as is still customary in some countries, fear for their lives. Everyone is more than their sexual orientation, and should be proud of it.

The Sunshine Realm stands for openness and tolerance. This applies to people from all countries, all religions and cultures, but also all sexual orientations. We are an open world without prejudices and without excluding anyone. And so the PRIDE Days are something special for us every year. Together we make the world more colorful and richer.

A wonderful topic and we were preparing. After the problems with the Sim last week, this week's events had brought hope again. Our Sim was also restarted. Yesterday the land manager was there, and after a Sim start only a few minutes before the event everything went very smoothly. I think, as far as the technical conditions were concerned, this was our best event, and despite the 60 guests, the performance didn't really fall below the SecondLife average. But hopes were quickly dashed when I visited the Sim today just before the event. The condition was so bad that not even all components of the Sim were loaded. I had just restarted my viewer an hour earlier and cleared the caches, but I tried again. And the result was the same. While the problems on June 18th were still due to the fact that the sim had not been started regularly the days before, some events have been critical since June 21st with a dailly started sim. And a lot guests have complained about Lag last days. What are we afraid about Griefers when landlords allows to breeder with horses in commercial sims for clubs?  The following picture shows the view to our neighbor "Lyrics" and the actually very beautiful hotel. A Sim in which such breeders do their mischief comes close to pictures from crisis situations.

And i talked with Chant and she is unhappy too. And also on the first picture with Lily and the rainbow flag can you see that parts of our street are not rezzed. And you can find missing parts in the sim on all pictures of the event. Like at the pictures below with a gap in the normally closed row of houses. Maybe we should start looking for a new Sim, where this is not allowed.  At least it was the same here when we rented this sim. But perhaps a solution can be found.

So the event was difficult to carry out. The sim was under load so not all parts were loaded. The INTAN balls took extremely long, so it was extremely difficult for the couple dance. I saw a couple that took at least 4 tries until they could dance together. And the positions of the INTAN balls weren't correct either. And the contest board had a response time of almost 30 seconds. Actually, you can't really do an event in a sim like that anymore. But we are experienced enough and want to offer our guests the best events. So we decided not to stop.

Fortunately, most guests don't notice much of the problems. At least until the voting starts. We opened the party at 4pm. After some difficulties also DJ Yuimetal could come to us and started 5 minutes later. But that didn't break the good mood. And also the first guests came fast and it became slowly fuller. And almost all of them came in the colours of the rainbow flag, some also had flags with them. As always, we wondered how many guests would come today, and if everything would work out in the end. But DJ Yuimetal first captured us with good music and we all enjoyed the first phase of the event.

After a slow start, it quickly filled up after an hour. We had started the event with 1,000 L$ in the contest. After more than 30 participants had registered, we increased the jackpot to 1,250 L$. Difficult, if the board reacts so delayed. But in the 2nd try it worked. That you can't increase the jackpot show bad the sim was in this moment, because this was before the vote should start. With that we have then, however, triggered donations. An anonymous donor gave 750 L$ to make the winning amount "smooth" again. Was it a good idea? But we didn't want to withhold this from our guests and increased the sum to 2,000 L$. We extended the registration period by a few minutes. But that was not the end, because also Travi and Skye donated another 500 L$ for the contest.  Thank you both. For the support and that you are always there. So the vote would be 2,500 L$ in the jackpot.

Before we started voting, I once again pointed out the difficult situation to everyone. A test showed a reaction time of almost 30 seconds. There would be a difficult vote. And every click on the board would increase the lag even more. We said that hitting the board multiple times would cause it to lag more, and cause a queue with everyones multi-clicks. We appealed to everyone, but also warned that we would intervene. And we promised that we would give everyone enough time until we would break up the contest and select the winners. Everyone should stay calm.

We had almost 60 guests that evening and by the end there were 46 in the Sim. There were also some new group members, so we had 900 group members again. So far everything had worked and we didn't want to give it up in the end. So we reassured the guests, and very slowly the votes came. The response time became slower, some clicked several times, so we really needed 30 minutes until all the votes were collected. But most of the guests were very patient and disciplined. And the mood was still very good. That's also the Sunshine Realm.

So we changed to DJ during the voting. At 6pm DJ Polpeta took over the entertainment and recorded her stream. She started with a good set. But first we thanked DJ Yuimetal who played a good set as usual. With the after-party the first covers fell and the first of us danced topless or naked. So we had a good ending and at the end 33 participants voted. We said goodbye to the guests and pointed out again the event of the next week. We will celebrate an American week with a Country Night, the late Independence Day Party and finally a Rockin Roller Derby event in our new Roller Rink. We stayed together and danced happily.

So we ended the last week in June. And it was another successful week. And with it also June. Many beautiful events with many guests made it a wonderful month. We are more than 900 Sunshine Rocker. We are now looking forward to july with the American Week and Independence Day, the French national holiday, the Anniversary of the moon landing.  We will have an amusement park and of course we will celebrate on the beach again. We will have some surprises again.

There is also today again a Google Images Album. Have a look, pictures often say more than words. And you should have a look at the blog page "Upcoming Events", maybe you are interested in one of the upcoming events. If you want to drop by and explore the Sunshine Realm, here's the landmark for you.
