Heavy Metal Headbangers

After last week's alternating bath with the only weakly attended "Lumberjack Day" event with few visitors and the so successful "Venice at Night" we were of course especially curious. The topic "Heavy Metal Headbangers" was already planned. Would we reach more guests with this topic? But on the other hand it was a Tuesday and we were still somehow in summer time. We wanted to return to Sunshiner's Pub for this time and decorated it accordingly.  Here we already had the "Punk Rock Night" event or the trip to the 70s disco time. The Sunshiner's Pub is next to the Trails End Music Hall Club one of the centers in the Sunshine Realm. And some days before we declared it to our frat house for the "College Frat Party".

At the 27th of August is National Just Because Day. What asked us what we could make with this topic? We made a brainstorming and decited, we needed an event were our guests, friends and we self using our heads. Just because, we made our Head Bangers Day. And head banging, this is Heavy Metal. We started with music themes, we had the Garage and events like Rock Night and Underground Rave. We reached last year first time 50 guests at such a rock event. We wanted go back to our roots with this event and made a Metal Night. 

Because we have give up the Garage before this summer, we moved it to our Sunshiner's Pub. After everything had been prepared and we had put together the appropriate outfits for ourselves, there was nothing else but to wait. But no matter how many guests came, we would have a fantastic event with our friends. So the first ones came long before and there were really great outfits. We talked and laughed, and the tension was slowly loosening. It could start. 

Then it was finally time, DJ Yezika arrived punctually at 5pm together with Ruby and Vanny and we started. She started her music stream into our Sim, and from the first minute on it was really banging. And it was another awesome set that Yezika had put together for that night, so she rocked the pub for us.  And also the first guests came, and it got around that we expect matching clothes from our guests. And of course most of our guests have fun with the themes too. So our pub filled up quickly.

And even today it was easy to see that many guests would come. Maybe even more than usual for Tuesdays. Maybe we could even build on the success of the "Venice at Night" event. The number of the group members had risen again, and we had published naturally also this Event in the Secondlife calendar. Would new guests find us? But after one hour we had to ask ourselves, would the Sunshiner's Pub be big enough for all guests?

It's really hard to believe, but we have actually been able to build on the success of last weekend. We had fat 80 guests that evening, and since not everyone could stay all the time, "only" 64 guests and friends were together in the pub. This made it the second most successful event of the summer after Venice at Night and even surpassed the three very successful events of our special theme week for the 50th anniverary of moon landing (Launch to the Moon, In the Moon's Orbit and The Arrival on the Moon). Here many guests came to us because of the SecondLife Challenge and theme days for the moon landing. With that we more than made up for the small lull in the middle of this month and also in August the summer slump will not have an effect, on the contrary. 

The mixture of these different events proves itself and makes the Sunshine Realm something unique in the SecondLife Grid. And our guests appreciate this and join our events wearing such wonderful clothes. And they make the event so something special together with us.

We also had another contest. We started it at 5pm with 1,000 L$ jackpot in split mode. Since more than 30 people took part in the contest after one hour, we increased the jackpot to 1,250 L$. So we went at 7pm into the voting. We started earlier with the voting because we were a bit nervous, especially at the ground it sometimes seems to be a bit more laggy, and there were 64 people in the pub and more than 50 took part in the contest. But everybody behaved reasonably and so the voting went very well and fast. In the end 51 people voted in only 15 minutes. We said goodbye and farwell to the guests, of course not without pointing out the next events. So our Headbanging Event ended punctually at 7:30pm and we could breathe a sigh of relief and relax. Now we look forward for this weekend and the last events in August und somehow this summer.

But even if it is always late on Tuesday and we want to go to bed soon, we stayed together 30 minutes longer. We ended the evening with this after-party. And also today there were beautiful avatars dancing topless. Not only the bodies are moving there. You should come to one of our after-parties, they are really special. But around 8pm many of us went to bed and others went back to the clubs of SecondLife. An awesome night was finally over.
