A Night in the Roman Colosseum
Once again it was time for a formal night at the Sunshine Realm. When we did our "Venice at Night", we also decided to do a Formal Night at least once a month. We all love festive dresses and men in pretty suits and the special atmosphere of such formal night. Who went to our Temple on our Mount Olymp again this time, it is really a special place and offers enough space for everyone. And also this night was amazing.
Winter is Coming
We had our last GoT event in the spring time. We were then the place where we had previously celebrated our event "The strong Girls of Hedeby", and had rebuilt the Viking village to our own Winterfall and even the dragons did not miss. We celebrated our GoT special there with a lot guests and an amazing vibe. Now the summer is over again and the winter is slowly approaching. Time to took up this topic again and celebrated our next GoT special with "Winter is coming". We went to the Realm of Shades, the old gothic church ruin and the castle yard with the cemetery in front of it.
Urban Dance Festival
Music is always a powerful force at Sunshine Realm. Over the years we've held events featuring the musical genres of Rock, Metal, County, Punk, Jazz, Blues and Reggae. Tonight we celebrated our first Urban Dance Music Festival. This genre includes the musical styles of Hip-hip, Funk, Rap and Raggaton. We met us at the Street before the Sunshiner's Pub and danced to the music which spun by DJ Yezika. We celebrated Urban music and Urban dance this way. We asked our friends and guests to put on baggy jeans, sneakers, balls caps and tshirts and to come to celebrate with us.
Tribute Reeperbahn Festival 2019
We celebrated music, art and creativity by honoring the International Reeperbahn Festival tonight. Since 2006 the Reeperbahn Festival has brought Music, art and culture together with a focus on social issues and positive change. The festival features new music film and art from around the world. It was reason enough for us to tribute this festival and bring it to the Sunshine Realm.
We asked our Guests and friends to join us at our outdoor venue for this celebration of music and culture. Misty peeked at the weather forecast and it calls for rain that day. So we asked guests to come prepared for a cloudy raining day.
Bahamas Support Day
Hurricane Dorian has shaken us all in the last few days. And even though it did not hit the USA coast as expected, it left a trail of devastation in the Caribbean. And special the north-west of Bahamas was destroyed by the strongest hurricane of the modern time.
We had some events on our Caribbean beach this year, and that was certainly no coincidence. This is a beautiful corner of the world. That's why we want to take up this topic again. The Bahamas were particularly hard hit this time. It was a difficult step from such a catastrophe to an event at the Sunshine Realm. And we wanted any advantage from this topic. And even if we didn't collect any donations in SecondLife, this is unfortunately more difficult than you think, and you get very quickly into the suspicion of taking advantage of the needy and even cheating. But we would like to sensitize everyone to donate or to pay attention to what is happening in their own countries. These people need our help. So we met us at our Caribbean beach, and perhaps we could persuade some to do something in real life for the victims of this terrible disaster.
Flight School
This was our first event around the topic "Airport - Flying" and we built a runway in the Sky aout the Sunshine Realm. The Sunshine Airfield was born. Then there landed aircrafts and we had a wonderful event. We know that airplanes and flying are a big topics for many people in SecondLife, and that there are also some functioning airports. We are sure that some of our guests are also active pilots in SecondLife. Well, as usual this was just an idea for a party, and a challenge to find a suitable outfit. And we hoped that a lot people would following our invitation to this special event.
Sockhop 50s Party
Tonight was SockHop party at the Sunshine Realm. And it was really so amazing. We already had an 80's and a 70's party this year in the Sunshiner's Pub, and we went back to the time of prohibition in our Burlesque Hall. Also this time we went back in time and had a sock hop party with our guests and friends. We went back to the time when Rock&Roll was born and became more and more popular. And many of the casual dancing evenings took place in sport halls, all guests had to took off their shoes and danced on socks so that no ugly stripes were made on the expensive floor.

English Tea Time Party in the Garden
Tonight we wanted to be very British. We invited our friends and guests to an English tea time party in the Sunshine Garden and looked forward to 2 relaxing hours with DJ Valantine. We wanted deance and relax together. And because it wasn't just a BBQ with friends, we expected semi formal and formal clothes from our guest. With this we started a challenge, most of us had difficulties to find a good outfit and the imaginations were very different. I used Google like usual if i haven't a direct connection to a theme, and decided: "I need a hat".
Fitness Class
We've come up with something special for today. We haven't been to our Sunshine Gym since spring and wanted to go for a workout in the Warehouse, which was converted into a huge fitness studio. But how could you organize a special workout on a Tuesday? As always we expected DJ Yezika and the Nightwishes who would entertain us.
Now is Zumba a protected kind of events and we don't wanted give the impression that it is a regular Zumba event. So we called the event tonight "Fitness Class". But everyone should know that our themes only an event idea in SL and you can't make a physical workout. But back to topic. A strenuous physical work-out composed of Latin American dance movements. So Latin American music fits very well.
And DJ Yezika is our Latina Queen, she showed us this with some special events like "Salsa Night", "Havana Night" and "South of the Border Music Festival". We were sure that she would let us sweat with fast Latin American rhythms that can be danced. We invited all friends and guests to put on workout clothes and sneakers and come to our workout.
Tailgating Party
The 7th of September was the National Tailgating Day and the Football Season started at this weekend. We went to our own Tailgaiting Party and celebrated this on our new Football Field here in Sunshine Realm. We had a lot footbal events here in past and love this topic. Sadly was the last event, our start into the Pre Season, not really crowded. We were very curious, if we could change this today.
Of course, it would be Bengals versus Seahawks again. But in a friendly way. We were looking forward to this evening again and hoped that more guests would come. Everything was prepared, now we could only wait.
Hollywood Night
Actually we wanted to do another literature event. Because it is the National "Read A Book Day" at the 6th of September. Misty and me share the love to read good books and we talk about this. Good books take us inside and let our imagination grow. You should try it again.
But Odette told us about Phils idea of a Hollywood Night. So both inspired us for changing the literature night to a movie night, or more exactly to a Hollywood Night. We are happy about inspirations of our friends, thank you Phil. And even a Hollywood blockbuster usually starts with a good book. So we are not far from the topic. It's not your imagination that makes the book work, the actors and the director take it away from you. Well, we wanted to turn it around so that our guests got creative. They were called to try to reenact them favorite actors and their roles. Its not the Oscar Night, but we made it festive and went with our guests and friends into the Burlesque Palace with this special event.
Car Wash Day
Now we have finished the fist event in september and can look back. Its the day after Memorial Day in USA. Besides at this day is the Bowling League Day . But we were Bowling some Days before, and it was an event with lesser vistors as usual. What could we do instead? Something with Balls and Pins, maybe with moving balls? bodies and boobs rubbing about cars in wet clothes. And sex sells. And we were sure all men would love this special event. The First Car Wash Day at Sunshine Realm. This was a funny event in the Street and the Alcove. The Sunshine Girls offered free handjobs. We washed cars with a lot water and sponges. At least wie looked like this, and bubbles were all over.
A brief look back at August
It's been another month. And like in the months before also today a review of the previous month. Of course we asked ourselves whether we would be able to build on the results of July, which is our most successful month although we are in summer time and therefore the vacation time. You can read it again in the Review for July. Our concept is simple. New and varied, interesting events, which we announced earlier than usual and published in the SecondLife calendar early. Thus we wanted to compensate the losses by the summer slump and also win new guests.
But this month our luck seemed to be running out. After a very good start we seemed to arrive in the middle of the month in the summer hole. But at the end we were able to turn the tide again and finish this month very successfully.
