Butterflies Watching
After our Summer Camp we were looking for a new idea to host another event on the big meadow in front of the Trails End Music Hall Club. We had some good ideas and laughed as we spoke about them. But I always had the image of a naturalist running after butterflies with a small net in his hand. ANd I told Misty about this. Misty laughed when I tried to explain it for her. My English is limited and I missed a few words. But that's how this event was born.
The idea of this event was to exploring the nature together, as naturalist, with casual and comfy clothes, ready for a longer excursion in the forest or the nature, at the sought for new animals and plants. This maybe with an outfit which brought us back to the life time of David Livingstone or Henry Morton Stanley in the 19th century. And of sure, everyone should wear suitable clothes thats protect them from the mosquitos.
Surfing Lessons
When we plan events it is often a mixture of new and proven formats. It would be almost impossible to prepare three completely new events every week. We also have to choose an outfit, and then there's the cost of a new location. That's why we're looking for new events that we can hold at existing venues and mix existing ones. Also at this event we went back to the past and fallen back on proven methods. Actually we wanted to build a Japanese garden after the winter, but then we decided to make a Hawaiian Luau and built a beach club just for this one event. A short time later we extended the area around the beach club with a Caribbean beach for our first Surf's up! Event to make. Well, today this is an area where we did a lot of events. It's the time travel to the pirates, the swimming lessons or the sun tanning. And we welcomed the summer here too.
For this event we wanted mix two of this theme, and we met us with our friends and guests for surf lessons on the beach.
Mythical Creatures
We've been talking for a long time about making another "Mythical Creature" event. Some of you may remember that we built the Sunshine Garden in March 2018 just before Easter and opened it with the event "Mythical Creature". Because unfortunately some of our friends couldn't be there, we repeated it a few days later. At that time the Haunted Garage which we used to bridge the time after closing of Sunshine Cove Beach Club became the Sunshine Realm. Somehow it was the beginning of a new area for the Sunshine Family. The garden is thus the oldest area, even if it is a little bigger today and the water feature and gate on the right side have been added. And we all love this place.
Odette's Birthday Burlesque Party - "She is one of us!"
Well, we already had the birthday party for Odette on Tuesday. And I really hope we were able to surprise them. And they were all together the first this year to wish her a happy birthday. But we wanted to come up with something special and really surprise her. She is one of us. And actually her birthday was on the 24th of July. So what can you do to organize a very special celebration for her?
I had the idea on Monday last week, when I visited "Babylon Berlin" on Mondays. We ourselves have a rest day and on Mondays there are fantastic live singers in "Babylon Berlin". And even if they are all very good, Sultry Sonata Masterson enchants me every time with her funny nature and a wonderful voice, and a harmonious set. I'm a fan, I admit it. And I would visit sets of her more often, but of course I often miss the time. This is the first part of the story.
Odette's Birthday Surprise Party
We've thought of something special. We wanted to organize a surprise party for Odette, but knew she wouldn't log in on July 24th. What could we do? So we used the time difference between SecondLife and Buenos Aires. Here the 24th of July starts at 8pm. So we turned our After-Party into a surprise party.
But how could we prepare everything unnoticed? It should be a private party with friends. We prepared something special for the after-party and prepared a beach landscape with walkways in our private sim. In addition we added the sound of waves and seagulls and we could decorate it. Finally we prepared the fireworks and the party could begin. We hired Joaquin Gustav for a special set only for Odette.
Reggae Party
After we were in our space station the last week with the wonderful events, we wanted to go once again to the Sunshine Caribbean Beach again. It is summer in the northern hemisphere and the first warm days are behind us. Dreadlocks and colorful clothes, happy people who smoking joints and dancing to the Reggae music. Many will remember Bob Marley now, the king of Reggae. The word reggae actually means "loose women". We wanted to celebrate with our friends and guests a happy party on the beach.
And there were be some sexy half-naked or lightly dressed women today again.
The Arrival on the Moon
Our special week for the 50th anniversary of the moon landing achieved its climax today. The Apollo 11 mission also reached its destination 50 years ago on July 20th. The lunar landing module "Eagle" successfully landed at 20:17 UTC in the Mare Tranquillitatis on the lunar surface and Armstong's words went around the world "Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed". This is 1:17pm here in our common virtual world. As we started our party at 4pm, and we looked back at the mission 50 years ago, "Eagle" was already standing on the lunar surface. We have added a small lunar landing place with the model of the lunar Apollo 11 Eagle lander placed to our set. And the Apollo 11 Service Module with the Command Module flew about the walkways.
We followed the mission. We started with "Launch to the Moon" at the 7/16 and continued with "In the Moon's Orbit" at 7/19. Now we had our "Arrival on the Moon." It was a really wonderful week here at the Sunshine Realm.
In the Moon's Orbit
Today we continued our special week for the Apollo 11 Mission with the first moon landing witch we started at 16th of July with the "Launch to the Moon". And we're looking back at the moon mission 50 years ago for this event too. On July 19, 1969, the Apollo 11 reached moon orbit and swung in. With that the first stage was finished and the preparations for the landing with the special module "Eagle" could begin. Reason enough to have an event for this tonight.

Launch to the Moon (Sunshine Moon Landing Week)
On 16 July 1969, the Apollo 11 Mission to the Moon was launched. We want to make this mission 50 years later the subject of a special week, and will following the steps of the moon mission with events. Today we started our own journey to the moon. As command center for this mission and as venue for this week we have bring a space station to the Sunshine Realm. Bic did rezzed the station about the Sunshine Realm's "Trails End Music Hall" and "Sunshine Garden" and Misty filled and decorated it with a lot of her cool stuff. Here will be held the 3 events this week. The first of this events was today the "Launch to the Moon". We hoped that the launch will succeed under the direction of Yezika, our DJ for this night.
Our Events were planned before and independent of the SecondLife Challenge (#Apollo50th, #Apollo50, #Apollo11, #SecondLifeChallenge). But you can use our Sim and events well to make really fantastic pictures and take part at the Challenge. People with improper clothes and conduct destoying the special mood for all and inhibit the chance for great pictures.
With this events we follow up the very successful parties in Space Station 1 above the Sunshine Cove Beach Club. Here we had an awesome Superhero party and a stunning SciFi party in November 2017.
Honor France (14th of July Party)
July 14th is the national holiday in France. Since it commemorates the storm of the Bastille on 14 July 1789 and the beginning of the French Revolution, it is often referred to as Bastille Day. On the eve of 14 July, we celebrated this special day with all our French friends and guests and honored the great nation France.
So the street in the Sunshine Realm became the Champs-Élysées again and you saw the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. And the Alcove with the Major Stage was our Place Charles de Gaulle. We were able to use last year's banners, but Bic covered the pavement again with the colours of the tricolour and installed an impressive light in front of the stage. Thank you Bic for your help. So we was ready for an amazing night with our friends and guests from france.
Opening our Summer Camp "Camp Sunshine"
Today we had a special event. We are always looking for new topics and ideas, and have thought up something new again. Its summer time on the northern hemisphere and in the USA but also in many other countries around the world groups of children go camping in the forest. They sleep in tents and learn how to make fire, go fishing, archery or orient themselves in nature. Maybe you've been to a summer camp like this before. Maybe we can bring back some memories for you then.
We wanted to go to such a summer camp with our guests and friends today. We prepared everything on the big meadow in front of the Trails End Music Hall Club and the campfires burned there aside of a tent and volleyball net. And this place is really special and one of the most beautiful venues in our Sunshine Realm.
Glitter in the Pub Night
We haven't been to Sunshiner's Pub since the "Back to the 70s" party and wanted to do another event in our Sunshiner's Pub. The Sunshiner's Pub is really one of the most important venues. We made some time travels here at last. And we showed that we may celebrate very different Parties here with our Back to 80s and Back to 70s Parties. And our Literature Night or Tartan Day also showed how different parties are here. We had a lot of nice parties here. So we go to the pub again and celebrate with our guests and friends. And we want it colored and bright again. We invited all our guests and friends to our "Glitter in the Pub Night".
Rockin' Roller Derby Night
As we had planned our American week, we also talked about the closing event. What could an American weekend look like? It should be something very special. With a trip to a dinner with hamburgers and steak or a BBQ? No, we thought about something else and prepared a new venue for this event. We wanted to organize a roller derby party with our guests. Because sport always plays a role for us, and a roller derby really has an American effect.
Country Night at Trails End Music Hall
Together we started today an American week at the Sunshine Realm. And since we will celebrate Independence Day this week, we wanted have a special week with friends and guests together. And we opened the week with a Country Night at Trails End Music Hall.
The Country Nights at Trails End Music Hall Club are always something special. This is due to the special atmosphere here. But maybe also the memories of the old Trails End Music Hall Club. We are glad that we have resurrected it and integrated this big barn as one of the Sunshine Realm festival places in the Sunhine Garden. And most of us love our new Trails End Music Hall!
Review of the June
Like in the review for may I may do opening this post with the words "Another successful month lies behind us". And for sure it's time to look back. After the cleanup in our groups last month were the mood very well and we can really look back at a successful month. So we were able to take care of the planning and preparation of the event instead of mediating the arguments of some Sunshine Girls with group members. And there were some special parties in June.
Our first event in June was a bang for the bucket. We had invested a few days of preparation and transformed the Viking village into a primeval world. The dinosaurs came back. So we started a time travel and went back to the Jurassic World with our guests for the event "Dinosaur Day". There were not only dinosaurs, many came with interesting outfits and we all had a lot of fun.
